Biomonitoraggio di micro e nanoplastiche biodegradabili: dall’ambiente all’uomo in una prospettiva una salute
ABSTRACT:
BioPlast4SAFE includes two fundamental actions: – Action 1 – promoting applied research, through multidisciplinary approaches, for the study of chemical-physical and morphological characteristics and fate in environment and potential toxic effects (on different trophic levels from the environment to man) of micro- and nano-plastics deriving in particular from biodegradable polymers. – Action 2 – promote, develop and support the regulatory framework for the management of chemicals, including plastics. The elements that will emerge from the project will be functionally connected within the context of the regulatory framework for the management of chemical substances/chemical products, pursuing the “from science to action” logic. The activity will include two fundamental approaches: i) laboratory investigations aimed at simulate the release of plastic particles from everyday products and their impact on established biological models; ii) evaluation of environmental matrices and human biological samples looking for plastic particles in order to understand the possible transfer mechanisms from a trophic level to the next.
