Dumbfounded and with immense sorrow we inform those who knew and esteemed him that this morning Mario Malinconico, our beloved colleague as well as a charismatic and outstanding figure in the world of chemistry, suddenly left us.
During his long career in the field of research he trained several generations of students, researchers, colleagues always transmitting to them rigor and passion for this work and accompanying them with his unmistakable and irresistible laugh.
His joy for his profession and for life reached the farthest corners of the world and we are sure that it will continue to inspire all those who had the pleasure of knowing him, of working with him, and who will now have the not easy task of carrying on, with the same energy, the same passion and the same enthusiasm what he started.
