SHORT CV
Fabiana Tescione is researcher of Institute for Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials in Portici (NA). She graduated in Chemistry in 2005 at Federico II University in Naples and obtained her PhD in Materials and Production Engineering in 2009 from the same University. Since 2011, she has been involved in research activities in scientific projects at the Institute of Industrial Technologies and Automation in Milan (ITIA), the Institute for Composite and Biomedical Materials in Portici (IMCB) and the Institute for Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials in Portici (IPCB) of the CNR. Between 2013 and 2015 she was Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Macromolecule in Prague (Czech Republic) in collaboration with Dr. Libor Matejka in the framework of the CNR/AVCR Bilateral Cooperation Agreement. In 2018, she worked on product quality control at Lapo Compound S.r.l. in Caserta.
The experience gained concerns the production of nanostructured hybrid materials and nanocomposites based on epoxy resins and polyhydroxyethyl methacrylates through the sol-gel and hydrothermal synthesis; the development of new multifunctional micro- and nano-structured materials for the controlled release of active molecules for different applications from automotive to food packaging; the nonaqueous sol-gel technique application; the biodegradable polymer composites production; the curing of epoxy systems through microwaves and the application of several processing technologies for polymeric materials. Since 2013, she has been Lecturer with temporary position of Chemistry at the Engineering Faculty of Federico II University in Naples. She is currently scientifically responsible for Collaboration Agreements with the Department of Chemical, Materials and Industrial Production Engineering (DICMaPI) of at Federico II University in Naples and with the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection in Campania (ARPAC) of Caserta.
She is a member of the Italian Chemical Society (SCI) and Expert Evaluator for the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) in the Fondo per la Crescita Sostenibile (FCS) Programme. She is co-author of scientific publications in international journals, produced in collaboration with Italian and foreign researchers, and she is a reviewer for international scientific journals. Current research activities are focused on the development of environmentally sustainable solutions for wastewater treatment, coating of metal surfaces and the development of systems for the controlled release of molecules of biomedical and cosmetic interest.
