Prof. KRZYSZTOF MATYJASZEWSKI VISITS THE IPCB-CNR
Property ID: 1
Year: 2017

Prof. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski visits the IPCB-CNR from 11st to 16th March 2018.

Prof. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski will give some seminars in the IPCB working sites on Monday, (12nd March), on Wednesday (14th March) and on Friday (16th March).

The titles of the seminars are the following ones:

“Macromolecular Engineering by Taming Free Radicals” (Monday 12nd in IPCB-SS Napoli/Portici)

"Externally controlled atom transfer radical polymerization" (Wednesday 14th in IPCB Pozzuoli)

"Advanced materials by externally controlled ATRP" (Friday 16th in IPCB Napoli)

Prof. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski is worldwide known for the Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) process which was developed by him at Carnegie Mellon in 1994 and now is among the most effective and most widely used methods of conducting a controlled radical polymerization (CRP).  The Matyjaszewski Polymer Group continues to improve ATRP and prepare materials with controlled topology and composition suited for many applications, including automotive, building materials, medical, military and environmental fields using this robust technology.  One of the ongoing objectives of the Matyjaszewski group is to explore the scope of CRP for the synthesis of novel materials and to collaborate with other groups around the world to determine the unique properties of these custom synthesized materials.
