Almost twenty years after the operational start-up and with a wealth of resources, experience and acknowledgments accumulated over the years, the research support office is transversal to the Institute’s research activities.

With the headquarter in Pozzuoli and operational offices in each secondary site, it operates with a network organization, activating and supporting cooperation processes between companies, research centres and university institutions to encourage research-business exchange through a virtuous circuit that favours new investments for the technological innovation.

In particular, it offers support to the scientific community as concerning:

  • Project management
  • Technology transfer (patents, spin offs, facilities)
  • Third mission (alternation between school and work and public engagement)
  • Communication (website and social channels)

PROJECT MANAGEMENT. Strategically oriented project management activities outline and compose, on each thematic area of intervention, relational and exchange processes between innovation actors and favor the creation of environments for research application, stimulation of production, transfer, of experimentation and first use of innovative technological and management solutions. In synergy with the scientific managers of the projects, the office offers support in the coordination of projects for the entire life cycle of the project: from “scouting and counseling” activities on regional, national, international calls, to “project design”, support in the drafting of the project proposal at every stage, up to the “project management” and final checks by the funding bodies. In addition, in collaboration with the CNR headquarter offices, it offers support to the scientific community as far as intellectual property rights, for the legal aspects of projects (“Consortium Agreement”, Confidentiality Agreement, ATS – Temporary Association of Purpose) and for the exploitation of research results.

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER. All the activities related to technology transfer, intended as the enhancement of research results and attention to the process through which all knowledge, technologies, methods of production, prototypes and services developed, using patents, spin-offs and facilities.

THIRD MISSION. IPCB adopts the guidelines identified by ANVUR – National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System – promoting, in addition to Research and Higher Education, initiatives with the aim of triggering new relationships with the territory and civil society. In this sense, IPCB boasts decades of experience for school-work alternation paths: it actively collaborates with various primary and secondary schools, to facilitate students’ orientation for their career, and above all to stimulate and encourage the attention of young people towards scientific research. Ad hoc courses have been created for high schools and scientific high schools thanks to specific agreements.

Public engagement activities are part of the third mission, the most suitable and appropriate communication initiatives, with educational, cultural and developmental value, aimed at translating the benefits of education and the results of research into society, through sharing and dissemination.

Among these, the IPCB is involved in the Remote Future events, the European Researchers’ Night, SMAU and the Genoa Science Festival.

COMMUNICATION.

IPCB recognizes the need to communicate its activities to the general public, introducing new communication approaches that intend to respond to increasingly modern needs, such as the “understanding” of science and the “involvement” by the citizen through social media channels and the institute’s website.
